Hello guys. Looking for advice on a new upper. Any help from those with experience appreciated.

Considering for now either a 16" Colt Canada IUR heavy barrel or MRR light barrel.

Wondering if the lighter barrel in the MRR heats up quickly and loses POI or is this a non issue? I believe there is about 1/2 lb. difference in weight. Does it feel like it is all at the muzzle end?

I have a CC BCG and Nikon 2-8 X32 scope at the ready.

Lower needs an upper.

Thanks

What are you going to be using it for? Bench shooting: IUR, anything involving moving around: MRR. I had the IUR and it is well built and accurate but very heavy for what it is. I wanted a lighter set-up for 3-Gun so I sold it and got a Maple Ridge Armoury 16.1" Match series upper and shaved a full pound off my rifle. The IUR is definitely front heavy due to the rails and the heavy profile barrel.

IUR 15.7 would make a decent dmr build, the mrr is superior in every regard except the lack of GL lug which is irrelevant to those that don't have an undermount grenade launcher. And unless I'm mistaken the MRR is being used by some squirrels, if it doesn't overheat with their use, us with paltry 5-15round mags is gonna be a joke.

I've run a ton of rounds through my MRR with no problems. IUR is great, but definitely noticeably heavier. Not too bad if you run it bare, but the weight penalty becomes really significant if you start hanging grips, lights or whatever off of it.
