Good Evening

Does anyone have one of these yet? Consider to purchase as a "DMR" style AR and add a Vortex (2.5-10)scope.

Only reservations are on the carbine gas and price... which I'm worried will nose dive the minute I buy...

Thanks!

Are you talking about a full-stocked DMR version as opposed to a telescoping stocked rifle with a carbine receiver extension? If it's the latter, the very first website I checked (SFRC) has some in stock.

With the sa20/sa15.7 over pricing fiasco, then the IUR "Blemished" uppers price slash I think a lot of shooters are waiting to see if the price tag will drop after the early adopters have had their fill.

But then again I might be wrong because it seems like anything CC puts out sells well just like the recently release $399 carry handles.

Daniel Defence isn't that much cheaper than Colt Canada nowadays...

My problem is when you compare the DD Mk12 "clone" and compare what you get (longer gas tube, SSA trigger, cerakote, etc) the question of is it worth it needs to be asked. I'd rather buy cdn but like... huge diff

I am hearing a lot of hooohaw without any facts here. Who said anything about a carbine length gas system on the "DMR" model?

Says this on the website under MRR18, and clear in the pictures from the gas block position.

Wow. My apologies. Ignore my "hoohaw". I reread what I wrote and clearly the brain was not connected to the fingers when I was typing cuz that wasn't at all what was in my head when I was writing that. Let me attempt to reconnect them and try again. It seems there are concerns with the notion of a carbine length gas system on the DMR. I have not heard any facts with regards to this type of setup being a bad thing, just gut feels and opinions so far. The only reason this would ever be of concern is if it isn't ported correctly, which isn't likely to be an issue here.

They actually did a lot of testing about it and concluded that the 18.6" barrel length was the maximum length they could use with a carbine-length system while staying 100% reliable.

I've shot both the MRR 11.6 and the MRR 18 at distance's between 50yards and 300.
Accuracy was about the same. I don't have groups, as we were shooting at 12" steel plates, but I didn't see any noticeable difference's between them other then the hold overs being different due to velocity difference's.
No long term testing on them, just an afternoon putting a few hundred rounds down range.
Most people won't really be putting them through their paces really. Just light duty use.

When I saw that thread on here and how fast they went.. I was shocked.

Mine is ready to go after sitting in the safe since Xmas. Just finished the probie shoots at my rifle club last Sat and got the 3X magnifier (on the EE) yesterday... but I'll have to wait until I get back my vacation until I put some rounds down range. Time to get wet, guns are going to have to wait.

I'll just add my 2c.

Rifle length system is preferable if you can get it, and on 18" barrel there is no reason not to have one. CC is just cutting down production costs or plain being lazy.

Nothing wrong with properly timed carbine length either, your BCG parts will get a bit more wear, but unless you are planning on shooting 5000 rds per year, that is a non issue. Oh, and and a lot more gas in the face as carbine length system is over-gassed.

I Love my 11.6 . Flawless function and a surprisingly nice trigger. Just have a red dot on it at the moment but have liberated a 3x9 scope from another gun and am going to do some range play with it soon.
