Colt Canada, New Designs! MRR C7/C8 Upgraded

I doubt we will ever see this rifle available to civilians. Or at least not for another 5 to 10 years. Most of the stuff on it is impractical from a civilian shooters viewpoint. And if you take off the scope and rails/sensors your pretty much left with the new MRR being released in june.

Most of this stuff definitely sounds cool and it looks like it could really help our soldiers complete their missions or tasks more efficiently.

I've considered building my own sensor rails before, because I can and it's just cool. Would rather buy than build on something like this if accessories start hitting the market. I'm very interested in knowing what specs and protocols they're using. I'm also a security guy .. so ... maybe I'll be horrified if I look too close. Sure would make for a fun time at the next hacker con....

the new MRR being released in June.

I was at the factory in February and I got the distinct impression I would have to wait way longer than June before we saw even the beginning of the production run for the MRR. I'm not Phil O'dell and I don't work at CC, I have no special knowledge, but would like to know where you got the June time frame.

When do you think they will be available?

A big moose by the name of Leger from Colt told me.

I don't have enough info to answer that and there are too many variables to make a guess. If I were to guess, my unit of measurement would be years.

It definitely wont be years. It may even be sooner than June.

Any idea of price? I am a hoping to pick up the 11.6" along with the new HK civi G36 down the line. I just hope they don't come out at the same time :/

Hey, the sooner, the better. I am buying one of each.

But keep in mind that the civi stuff gets plugged in, into holes in the production of .gov contracts.

I don't think there has been any official price announcements by O'dell or any of the dealers unfortunately.

Yup I can't wait to get one so my IUR has a friend. I feel like Colt Canada is stepping up their civilian production and market after all the IUR success.

But your right, if they get a big contract it's possible we could get pushed back.

Colt guys said 2k but they said that was their default answer and they did not have a price. They stressed to me to go through O'dell.
