Colt Canada Rifles a Limited Run?

The news of the 'limited' run is quite old now yes?

Perhaps, it's a case of Colt Canada originally offering a limited run but has since decided to produce the rifles in quantity for general sales volumes?.

<note to others: As the OP has stated: this isn't a thread about the viability of the price points, but the availability of product>.

Yes, wait for IRUNGUNS to Import Canadian Made Diemaco rifles from the US...

Hey it's your money....you think these will retail for $2100-$2300 in the US? You are getting the "Canadian Pricing" now, just like most other AR products in Canada, grossly overpriced....wait until you see the real pricing when they hit the US shelves.
These are a massive ripoff presently...

You think they are overpriced now, wait and if that 18.5'' AR NR barrel speculation pans out and see the pricing of those "limited run" rifle go through the roof. Same of HKs, as if they aren't already expensive enough..!

Korth will be announcing LE/MIl pricing by end Aug.

I heard the same thing from a PPCLI friend of mine. Will get one if we get a decent rebate. Also I heard the ones with green furniture will be available near fall/winter.

And to the OP. I doubt these models will ever be a limited edition. I bet they will be available for a long time since the MIL/LE counter parts are still in full production.

I don't think they are worth it IMHO....
You can get Colt 6920 from IRUNGUNS for under $1k yet these are over $2k....no thanks.

Wait till they hit the US shelves for $1100 then have IRUNGUNS bring one in for you...

I see many faults with your logic... Do you know anything of business, retail, marketing, anything of that sort?

There's an upcoming announcement from the CPC about Canadian gun policy, happening as early as next week I hear. Any favourable (or unfavourable) shifts in direction could make for huge changes in Canadian firearms ownership. Or not, wait and see, but it's possible Colt Canada is getting updates about what's in the works and that explains the different numbers they're putting out.

I also think the price is too high, they're hoping on the nostalgia factor to create a run on them. that wears off pretty fast.

Look at the demographic in Canada. We have ridiculous gun laws that will hinder their sales. They need to turn a profit somehow. That's how capitalism works, duh! I doubt they will offer them to the U.S. anyways. Why would they buy a Canadian made AR-15? Yes, people know of Diemaco quality, but why would they buy a foreign product with ridiculous amounts of domestic made options.

They won't ever see a retail shelf in the U.S.

They are a limited "30th Anniversary" run and they won't be offered after the initial run is done.

Yeah, CGN has already produced 10+ pages of debate over pricing.

I'm curious about whether anyone has any word from Colt Canada, official or otherwise, about the numbers of these being put into circulation.

Lots of dealers have them, but does anyone know in what kind of volumes?

So... what you are saying is $2000+ is a steal or an "investment opportunity"?

Damn, I do want one badly, But can't justify purchasing a $2000+ rifle the might possibly be confiscated and can't be used outside am "approved" range. Sorry, but life different in SK than out east in ON. That's why Vz58s sell like hot-cakes around here.

What's stopping them? Colt USA has used Diemaco/Colt Canada parts for rifles previously? Think Korth is going to sit on 5000 of these for 20 years waiting for them to sell?
Some people will be all over these no doubt, but I think the niche is small with this price tag.

The price coming out of colt is 1000$ a gun.
Korth is screwing us. And the total number is 4800 units this year.
