Colt Canada Rifles a Limited Run?

Considering the fact that these have apparently been brought to market due to Mil and LE members having asked for years for Diemaco/Colt to release rifles and carbines for private purchase - what are the odds that a good number (if not the majority) of the ones that have already sold are in the hands of current serving or retired members. That being said, with such little certainty or information surrounding the release of these models – both with respect to the actual number produced and the prospect of special “good guy” pricing, what are the chances that any serving member who has already purchased a carbine or rifle in the first run(s) will receive a rebate after the fact? Yeah, I know, wishful thinking... Hello, Colt Canada?? Are you there??

hsld.

So I guess it's worth waiting for the RUMINT on MIL/LE discount to play out?

I would feel kind of stupid buying one for full price and then seeing it pop up at a significant discount. How significant that is remains to be seen...

Not that concerned with a "30th Anniversary" title as that does nothing for a gun I would just run into the ground.

Not concerned about the colour of the furniture either as I plan to replace it all anyway.

Wish CC would be a bit more clear on what they have in store price and numbers wise but I suppose if you're trying to sell an initial run the worst thing you can do is tell people it's going to that much cheaper soon....

This is officially the gun I have flip flopped the most on so far.

Waaaa! First world problems!

:)

you're not the only one, every morning I'm like ok I'm getting one if those 20 inches, by the end of the day I'm like its too expensive!

Shops like Wolverine have MIL discounts on everything in the store.... Plus free shipping for July. Probably the cheapest place if you want one of these.....

And they have priced their Colts higher than what everyone else is selling them for.
Once you get the 5% MIL discount you basically pay the same price as no MIL discount at other dealers

Not quite, with their 5% Mil. discount you save a $107 on a $2,140 rifle (the CC SA 20) so only $2,033 versus $2,099 at their competitors so you actually save $66 +tax, not to mention arguably the best customer service in the business.
Just keeping it real...

Good grief, are we still on this?! A Tavor is the same price. An XCR-L is the same price. I'd love to see a side-by-side evaluation of craftsmanship and functionality between the three... Throw a Colt 6920 into the mix just for giggles... Wanna wager a bet which of the four comes out on top?

Do what you like with your own money, but don't criticize others for holding higher standards when it comes to the firearms they wish to purchase. Nobody here is chastising others for cheaping out on imported firearms.

Well said...

So what you are saying is if you don't qualify for a MIL discount DON'T buy from Wolverine ?

No just correcting some math, but since you mention it I did state that Wolverine is known for offering exceptional customer service making them the go to place for not only Canadian Colts but any firearms products they offer as you should never put minor savings above superior customer service.
I for one will be buying my Canadian made Colt from Wolverine regardless of the price when the time comes to choose a C8IUR model.
