I know that many of us are excited that the C7/C8 is considered for civilian sales but can anyone tell me if there are any parts issues? I couldn't remember where I saw it but something about us (our Gov't) selling our guns to over seas (Afghan National Army?) and something about the parts were NOT interchangable with American standard BCG's or something like that.

Unless I'm delusional please feel free to correct me. I'm really curious as to what the future roll marks will be, Diemaco or Colt...

Nobody will know until they start delivery, but considering green furniture is a no go, I won't be surprised, if other Canadian Armed Forces specific features will be deem no go as well.

Apart from the semi auto only parts, everything else is milspec, and would interchange in other milspec rifles.
After the rifles are released, parts will be available.

That was probably the single most POS that I have ever seen. Whoever in the Colt organization that got them to make that should be selling "snake oil" cause he is good! LOL

The receiver rail on the A1 was not picatinny. All new Colt Canada receivers should be. The Diemaco M203 mount is also an abortion.

The issue with the ANA rifles likely had more to due with getting brand new US made rifles vs worn out Canadian ones .

I just hope we can get the picatinny rail A1 carry handle, that thing is beast.

Standards A2 adjustable irons are crap and lose zero all the time, A1 is definitively the way to go with irons. The problem is you can't get it in a removable carry handle you need to buy a dedicated A1 upper.

The C7 rifle the ANA was issued are semi, full auto and safe.

The M16a2 or a4 that replaced them are semi, 3rd burst and safe

It was the fact that Canadian and US parts are not interchangeable in each others supply systems.
Militaries work in a world of approvals, M16 bolts are not approved for use in C7s and vice versa. But they do work.
