Colt Canada rifles to the public?

Quebec City police use semi only HK 416's.
Source: I handled one at the range. Regular police were doing their quals with their patrol carbines.

same with the HKs the Calgary Police Service had for testing.
the Colts that the CPS had were also semi only for regular patrol guys, possibly with the fun switch for Tac Team?

Oh yessss. Wonder if these will come with furniture and cadex gear? Expect the market for used Elcans to dry up!

Plus: They will be marked as Diemaco rifles!

Actually they probably won't be marked Diemaco. They may have the small devtec logo on some parts, but the roll marks on the lower receiver are now sporting the Colt Canada logo for the last two or three years. Some Devtec marked lowers may be left, or they may do it for nostalgia, but the standard logo is the Colt Canada emblem.

with the market flooded with ar15s, In the US and Canada, many police departments going bankrupt, guns builder defaulting on large orders, its easy to see why colt wantsto sell to civies now.
I see this as more of a we need sales bad! then anything else
You can buy a Us made true mil spec ar15 with standard stock and forends for $800-1100
bbb

This is bad news.

Only had my eye on one more purchase .... Now two items on the list :rolleyes:

That promise lasted. .... Under a day.

No triad. Black furniture. Collapsible stocks on both. Otherwise just like issue. The ones I saw were the first two samples made.

I personally know Matt Kirkpatrick and he has been trying to get Colt rifles in the hands of civvies for a few years now. He is an avid shooter/ competitor and a great guy!! this is not a surplus sell off.

He's on the board...

Why Diemaco and not Colt?

Just curious.

And it's a good thing in general that a big defense contractor will be marketing their rifles to citizens. I expect Wendy will be having a whole litter of kittens.

Colt=Military market

Diemaco=Civie market

Colt Canada still owns the rights to Diemaco

I have already told Matt that unless I hear an IUR is going retail I am not going to start drooling.

If anything hits the streets from the Colt Canada plant it will be a good thing.

They have to get the licensing agreement from Colt to build them. They are trying.

All the lowers are the same maple leaf with 5.56mm below it. SA20/SA15.7 laser etched above maple leaf. Diemaco markings above trigger.
