Agreed, definitely needs a shorter barrel like the original (one of my all time favourite rifles btw).

Selling 1500 units a year at a premium price makes way more sense than selling them cheap and plentifully in today's market. AR's area a dime a dozen at the prices I'm seeing people suggest they sell them at. The market for the $1000 (CND) AR is more than full right now. Why get involved in that when you can just create your own market? No other company can offer what Colt is planning to sell.

I'm wondering if they ever reintroduce their revolvers.

lol That converts to "##### that" in my language.
You can build an as good quality clone for a literal fraction of that price.
It's hard not to get sucked up into the "limited number" vortex of money burning sometimes but a price tag like that should be enough to snap awake all but the most fanatical.
Madness.

I'm kinda burned by this price tag myself. Still thinking about buying it, but if something comes up next month or before next February I dunno...
 
I heard from a source at Colt USA that they are looking at late January 2018 for a release date. However, that is also the third release date I have heard since they were originally introduced....

I can't believe this!! Exactly one year from today from my post back in 2017, almost to the minute, I got this in my mail!

Been waiting since 2016 to buy this, finally a new proud owner of the Nam M16!
