Colt Classic M16A1 Clone

Here's my XM16E1 I built over a long time.
Took me a long time to track down the right parts. The only sacrilege is the lower which is a DPMS milspec

So the complete upper is an actual Surplus LM marked A1 upper receiver. Barrel and gas block is a take off from an old SP1 Colt. The Butt stock, pistol grip and hand guards are all USGI surplus. The bolt and the entire LPK is from a batch of M16A1 surplus parts kits that Irunguns brought it way back with the FA bolt carrier and selector etc
I even tracked down an old peel washer for the prong FH!

THE hardest part to find was the flat sided delta ring. Very hard to find these days. I got it from the US of A. They have hoards of retro parts down there stuffed in the corners of every gun owners basement lol I'm debating a Nodak Spuds retro lower if they ever come in but it's a big price tag...

It's my pride and joy. Probably my favorite firearm I own. Took me a long time to build her. It is scary accurate with 55gr FMJ's. I use the 25 meter battle zero on it and I can hit plates with the irons out to 300 meters all day long just doing hold over. It's so light and balanced I can literally shoot it with one hand on the pistol grip and still hit my targets with ease standing. It's my favorite configuration. I'll have no other AR now. They just got heavier, more awkward and now borderline ridiculous after that with all the bling and tactical stupidity.
Love me some retro AR. One day I may do a classic Colt 653 carbine build but for now she's my baby!

A nice looking build. A1 style lowers are out there. Difficult to find but not impossible. Look at any ads for PWA or Olympic and check out the lower.

I picked up a complete M16A1 style PWA build on here a few years back for $900. This was before the retro craze though. SP1s could be had for similar coin. I had no problems picking up flat slip rings, .625" handguard caps, teardrop FA, A1 ejection port door, triangular handguards or A1 pistol grips with WTB on the EE. People were practically given them away. Now you pay a premium.

I still haven't gotten around to switching out the small parts. I should dig it out and take some photos. I've been toying with idea of using the upper and lower for an IDF Menusar clone.

Travis Bickle, not to be a buzzkill but a lock washer would be correct for XM16E1. Peel washers didn't appear until the A2 because they need to be timed. Peel washers are hard to find as well though. I tracked one down for a 727 style build.

My LGS looked into it for me when they were at the show. It is a limited run of 1500 units at $2500 US.
Apparently, none will be coming to Canada.
They will however be doing more of this kind of thing moving forward.

I guess this is where IRUNGUNS comes in.....

Anyone know where in Canada I can buy a Colt Classic M16A1 Clone? Given up on the newly released one, a custom build will suffice. Please email or PM me how much you want for one, thank you.
