good day, can anyone tell me if the colt cobra is res. or pro. also what do the go for new? and then used?

They are both depending on the barrel length, the ones with 106mm and longer barrels are restricted and the ones with shorter barrels under 106mm are prohib.

i'm 99% sure it is just colt cobra. i no it is a .38, but barrel length i'm not sure. i'm pondering on buying one like the canadian mp's used in the 70's/80's.

The only Cobras I've seen are the snubby ones with the lightweight frames. Always 12(6) though.

Original Colt Cobra was a light weight frame snubbie in .38 Special. It's a 12(6) prohib in Canada now. Lightweight frame not happy shooting .38 Spl +P loads too will only lead to trouble....

Agreed.....

I had a pair of old well used Colt Cobras once. Traded one off to an acquaintance who screwed it up shooting +P .38 Spls out of it. The other I traded off after getting a nice little S&W Model 37.

The S&W Model 37 Airweight snubbie I have in .38 Spl I haven't put any +P's thru it & don't plan to.
