Would some Colt experts tell me what is the difference between a Colt Commander and a Colt Combat Commander ? Which one is better ? Thanks.

The original Commander uses a lightweight alloy frame, and the Combat Commander came later with a steel frame. Which is better is up to you...the steel framed Combat Commander will "buck" less when you fire it.

I've owned both, like both, and until you pull the trigger, the ltwt alloy commander balances better [ for me ].
But the steel commander has less muzzle flip/recoil, and
I have had to weld up the frame around the recoils spring shroud on a Alloy framed commander, when it cracked.

This is why man invented the shock buff ....

I had a Colt Commander and the recoil was really a problem for me, had trouble shooting. I have excellent results with a Government model, I suggest a Government hands down.
