Colt competition 9mm what division

Asking for a friend he want to get a colt competition 9mm 5"barrel what division could he shoot IPC in with it

Classic would be the go to division, you could shoot standard too but you will be generally outgunned by other people.

In IDPA, the Enhanced Service Pistol (ESP) division.
