Hell what are peoples thoughts on the Colt Competition 9mm? has anyone used it for classic in IPSC? Hoe does it stand up to other 1911 in 9mm

One of the guys shot one in the IDPA match last Sat. I went to, he really likes it no problems so far except the FO front sight came off very soon after he started shooting it, they give you extras. he has the one with the matte dark finish which is already starting to show a little wear, he said he would have gotten the stainless finish if he was to do it again.

BTW Colt is offering a $50 off for this model in the US, not sure that will make it to Canada. All the manufacturers are having rebates/sales to stir up some sales down there as they have gotten quite slow.

Loving my Colt Competition 1911 in 9mm. I have been shooting 9mm 1911's for over 20 years from NP29 to Imbel (Springfield Armory) and now this rig. Only changed out those factory blue grips to a pair of Pearce Thin Grips and life is good.

I even changed out that blue fiber optic (Thanks Colt for leaving me some spare colours ) to orange and never looked back.

I shot this pistol in a Base Borden CQB match and I was pleased with my mag changes under stress... I'll be shooting this pistol more and more at our local club Action Pistol evenings. I'm running a bunch of 10 round Mec-Gar magazines and I'm most pleased! :p

I just lubed it up and ran with it! I'm deliberately not making any modifications to this platform and I want to shoot it just the way it is... Need to work on my brain!

I'm loving the flat main spring housing, the extended beavertail and the Novak sights.

Life is good!

I've got a stainless 38 Super on order.

I should start looking for some Hey, This Isn't 9mm Luger type loads.
