I have a book called COLT- An American Legend by RL Wilson
It has an appendix with dates according to SN and models. I would just try to find it on line. Mine was bought years ago at Chapters before they went anti-gun, pro child ####.

If you check online at www.proofhouse.com - they have dates of manufacture for many colt models.
