Only 400 units were ever made, serial # DE16### (see the certificate from Colt) so I'm trying to figure out what is this thing worth ? Fired about 200 rounds with it, still have the original box with all of the papers.

Thanks for any help !!!

cant help you on the value, but its pretty cool. try going to a gunshop and looking in their book of values to see if its in there. failing that, you could always try asking colt what fair market value would be, and then extrapolating CAD costs from there.

I am quessing that it is a commemorative of the Delta Force or some such so would probably appeal more to Americans. Some ex-Delta guy might really take a fancy to it.
Put it up for auction on Gunbrokers with a reserve and let us all know how it goes.
If it were mine I wouldn't sell it unless I was desperate, if I were desparate I wouldn't take less than $1500.00 U.S. The letter alone is over $100.00

Thanks Skinny, but to do all the paperworks to ship it across the border is probably a headache ? I'm not desperate but I could probably buy 2 pistols I won't mind shooting all day with the money I can get from this one......

A mint one went for $1400 a couple of years ago on GB.

I'd say you might find a collector of Deltas that would give you $1100?

I'd pay around $900 myself but I'm not known for getting all drooly over the various editions of the Delta Elite Colt's put out over the years.

Thanks for the info.......

That noob scratch is seriously going to affect it's value.

Rare, limited edition, 'collector piece' yada, yada, yada notwithstanding.

You also have to remember that Colt has put out a lot of small runs of Delta Elites. A 400 unit run in one configuration or another is not as unique as you might hope.

I like the two-tone look so that's a nice feature and I happen to like that gun (minus the duckbill) but I think its collector value is limited. If it's a good shooter I think that's where the value is.

I have found one similar in the state, but NIB, starting bid is $2125 (description below)....the used none limited runs I have seen are in the $1200-$1400 range,

Colt Delta Elite 10 mm; Limited production run. 5 Inch Barrel Matte Stainless Finish Original Delta Rubber Grips, White Dot Sights, two 8 Round magazines, Features a forged stainless steel frame, slide, slide stop, and barrel; arched main-spring housing, combat hammer, a 80 Series Firing System, and an aluminum trigger, match grade barrel, has box and papers.

I bought this one, a first year of production pistol for around $900 a couple years ago. No box or papers though. I don't think the S70 and S80 pistols are quite into the collectable category like older Colts yet, but they will be. Just my opinion though.

Ya that's a gorgeous pistol. I bought one of those new in 85 ish. I don't think I've had another pistol that fit my hand so well since. Bought the matching 223 that came with a scope in a fancy hard case at the same time. Like a moron I sold the rifle and the pistol.

One of the few 1911 pistols I'd consider owning. Had one years ago on loan, was a fun gun.

I had a pair of Delta's for awhile. A stainless Delta Gold Cup, which in itself is somewhat of a rarity up here in Canada, and a plain blued Delta, which I still own.

How they looked when I had them decked out with Pachmayr's:

My blued Delta, only pic I have of it at the moment.

I had Armco fit a .40 S&W barrel to my blued Delta as a "drop in" so I could take advantage of the piles of free once fired .40 S&W brass we have laying around these parts after the local municipal cops qualify on the local ranges twice a year. Best of both worlds!
