I bought one of these guns. I can't figure out the age of it but it looks to be 2009 or older. The serial # is DS115xx series. The gun has a black solid trigger. I think the serrations are straight up/down not slanted. It has an adjustable rear sight which may not be stock.
The question I have about the gun is partly polished stainless steel, some polished some mattle. The slide has lots of circular swirl marks on it. Not deep but looks like came from bad polishing. The Delta Elite on the slide could have been partly polished off or just badly stamped. It is there but stronger on the bottom half. Would have taken a h3ll of a lot of polishing! I'm wondering if these swirl marks came with the gun? Is Colt's QC that bad? It is h3ll easy to mark polished stainless steel.
I took to repolishing the gun today. There was a mild idiot scratch so that had to go. It is bright now but the swirl marks are still there, not at all deep but if you look you can see them. I'm calling it good for now. I used 2500 grit wet sandpaper and #83 polishing compound from auto body work by hand. Didn't want to get aggressive with it.
