Colt / Diemaco stripped lower AR Receiver - Does it need coating / blueing first?

Mine came complete from CC, the lower has a grey/purple tinge while the upper is BLACK.

If I may:
What oil did you use?
How long did you soak it for?
Did you literally soak it or did you apply the oil and place it in a Ziplock?
Any other special instructions?

Appreciate it.
 
There are many options, but for mine ....

- Hoppe's T3 oil
- Heavy coat in a ziplock bag overnight (say a day total time)

That's all.
