OK, so is there any news who this might be in the near future? also without this going "sideways" I've had some discussion about the "grey market" Colts imported from the US, since I'm interested in a 901. If??? you need some sort of repair or warranty, will/does Colt turn there back on ya?. If you're a end users with some experience in this, pls post your experience? Thanks

I think IRunGuns is bringing in some of the 901's, check out their forum.

They are a full importer of stuff, and should have all the paperwork needed to do export/import for any warranty purposes.

Grey Market or Non Regulated Imported Colts will not be serviced or warrantied by Colt Canada.

So Id guess IRUNGUNS will have to deal with the issue here or export to USA if they cannot.

You're other option is to try and get the gun from R Nicholls, and A. Good luck getting it from them, and B. good luck getting warranty service from them either :p

Seriously though I'm sure IrunGuns would be able to help out, and in any case they likely can help with the re-importation as they will have all the import paperwork for their firearms. They could likely send it back to the US with their import documents and then have it serviced and brought back to Canada. IIRC warranty items don't need an entire new export document to be filled out, just the right import/export documents.

Inland Pacific (Big Rock Canada) and R. Nicholls are both authorized Colt Manufacturing distributors in Canada. There is no warranty work in Canada presently for Colt Manufacturing yet, meaning any warranty work would be done in West Hartford. Most distributors require you return warranty items through the point of purchase.

I believe Questar is Colt qualified as a dealer. So that point of purchase is an option.

If you only had on AR and it was a Colt and it did have to go back to the USA I think the time away from the rifle is the kicker.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
