Hey guys, what would an almost new (gun was bought in 1993) Colt HBAR Match with factory plastic cheek weld and rubber detachable Tasco scope be worth? I don't think its a Delta Elite. Thanks

If it had the rubber Tasco, & cheek pad, it sounds like the Delta. They also had a black leather sling, and came in an aluminum case.

There were a couple of different slight variations of the lower and overall gun that could be found. Ie. some had, some didn't have the bayonet lug. Some had the sear block in the lower receiver, some didn't. Some had the triangle symbol on the pistol grip, some didn't. The aluminum case had the serial number on a paper tag on the end.

Some guys piece built guns and then purported them to be Deltas.

Back in the day before everyone must have rails and flat tops, the Delta Elite guns did command quite a higher premium, ie. $1800ish neighbourhood wasn't unheard of.

Interesting info there Koldt.

I've got the original manual for mine which shows the price was $1700 for the rifle. I highly doubt that included the Colt cheekpiece, rampant Colt marked ARMS carry handle sight mount and Tasco rubber covered scope. It was sold to the original owner in March of '87 (no, it wasn't me).

And you just described another variant. Some of the Tasco scopes had a unique integral mount from the scope to the carry handle. Some of them had the "normal" scope tube, with rings and the Colt marked ARMS base that has the screw to go through the hole in the handle.

The Delta Elite package, did come with all the accessories. That was the day when the normal price, even for an HBar, was around $1100ish.

Hmmm.......

Maybe I got a better deal than I thought when I bought my Colt!! (according to the owner it had less than 200 rounds down the barrel and it did come with all the Elite accessories)

I just checked the manual, and on the last page where the sales info is handwritten it says that it is an AR15-A2 Delta HBar. No mention of accessories but the price is written there as well ($1700) so I am assuming it came with all the goodies.
