Perhaps I'm reading tone into your sentence (and if I'm wrong, I offer an apology) but you keep using those word "admits" as if it were a pejorative. Colt "admitted" that their barrels will fail after 500 rounds of continuous full auto the same way every weapons manufacturer (who has bothered to test their systems) will "admit" that their barrels will fail after a similar number. The laws of physics and thermodynamics are universal for gun barrels.

Within the last month I saw a Youtube video where an AK-47 failed after about 600 rounds of continuous fire, a result that included a drooping barrel and the wood furniture on fire.

yes thats right, what we are saying is that any carbine, colt, hk, ak, will fail when it is used as a lmg, why aren't you getting that?

a carbine is not supposed to be used as a machine gun. just because it can go full auto doent mean it should go full auto for any lengthy periods of time, its not koolaid, every single rifle manufacturer will issue that statement if asked about full auto all the time.

supressing a determined assault by using carbines in full auto and no heavy weapons will result in the small arms failing, I dont see anything wrong with stating that.

if you want your doctrine to be full auto all the time the USA shoukd issue lmg to every single soldier.

drive your honda civic si at 8000-9000 rpm all the time, youll see you will not see 50000km on that engine, yet its one of the hardiest engines ever built.

drive your honda cbr at 8000-9000 all the time you wont see any problems whatsoever.

both are 4 cylinder FI engines made by honda, both are designed for very different things.

After watching this video, I can certainly see why full autos aren't allowed here. Far too much fun and excitement for your average Canadian!
 
in my original post the barrel on a commercial non milspec barrel did 830 rounds on video. A novesque is rated much higher, and so is an fn barrel,wilson, remington defense,......... thus colt milspec is not very good in my opinion. One of the major differences between a novesque and a commercial grade barrel is the chrome lining ,its the same as in a fn saw. The thickness of the chrome lining in a fn saw is basically twice as thick, this also aids in the longevity of the barrel as well as accuracy over time. Novesque barrels have been known to shoot well past the 50k mark without signs of keyholing.

You are insulting our intelligence by providing a link that contrary to your unreal expectations explains the real reasons behind all the troubles experienced by the soldiers on that particular day. Fail to comprehend the explanations provided and thin skin is your own problem buddy. You are right however that this is a forum open to discussion, so if you can't take a well deserved criticism, please stop making yourself look bad.
 
The G36 is fine that article is BS. Obviously running extreme amounts of ammo through any rifle is a sure disaster , but HK g36 and more importantly 416 can handle more than an M4 Colt can. Colt M4 are light carbines and fill that role there not light machine guns and neither are G36/416's.

Colt "admits" it eh. I was sure they were the ones who pointed it out in the first place.

BY using the term "admits" you are implying that Cold had done something wrong.

I hope I'm not insulting you by questioning your credibility.

HK stated quite obviously that you are not supposed to run any rifle as a machine gun.
they were never built to be used as machine guns

You have no idea what you are talking about. Obviously no Rifle is made to do what machine gun is. I thought I made pretty clear already. That was my point.
