Does anyone know if the Norinco upper will fit on a standard Colt AR15A2 lower?

My Colt AR has the 20" barrel and fixed A2 carry handle. It also has a match trigger in the lower. I'd like to have a shorter flattop upper that I could swap out for CQB matches (and just plain fun :D).

The Norinco M4(gery) seems to be the most budget-friendly way to accomplish this, but I need to know if it will fit. I haven't got the foggiest idea if the pins in my Colt lower are the large or small pins.

Any info will be greatly appreciated!

More info:

I checked out the link that SigWig posted (thanks buddy!!) and it appears that my AR has the two-screw front pivot pin, which means I have to get the adaptor for it.

Unfortunately, it still doesn't answer my question.

If your take down pins are standard (small), Yes your upper will fit your lower
If they are not and you get the adapter, yes, your upper will fit your lower

You are going to spend at least $900 to buy an entire Norinco rifle only to use the upper on your nice Colt lower?

Why not just buy a complete upper? Or build one from parts. There are lots of stores selling the parts or even complete uppers. And that way you will get decent parts.

IDK where Suputin is getting the $900 for a complete Norc price (most are selling them on CGN for $699 + shipping), but that darned near equals what it would cost me for an upper alone, and this way I get a lower to play with (and screw up royally:D most likely) too. I don't have the gunsmithing skills or tools (yet) to try to build my own upper.

Like I said in my original post, this seems to be the most budget-friendly way to do what I want.

I haven't bought a Norc M4(gery) yet.

Thanks for the info bear.23!!

I think you'd be just fine with an adapter. I agree that you can also have a lower to play with and mark up without endangering your Colt lower.

Don't listen to the gun snobs. I'm a big fan of Norinco myself as you get a lot of "bang" for your buck, instead of a lot of bucks for the occasional bang.

Well, delivered with taxes, the $700 M4gery is going to scare $850.
I'd be inclined to get a new upper, configured as you wish. If you wanted to customize the Norc. upper, the cost will mount.
Or, just get the Norc, and use it as is for CQB.
The again, the Colt could also be used as is for CQB.
I would be inclined to swap out the upper so an optic can be properly mounted, though.
