Colt m4 22

I have one, and I like it. I've put approx. 900 rounds through it and have had very few failures-to-fire, which I blame more on the cartridge, not the gun. I've only used Federal Challengers, but the bolt is adjustable with an Allen key in order to fire sub-sonics and other lower velocity ammo.
The Colt .22 has a very good feel to it. I'm not a huge fan of the M4 design (I also have a retro AR in .223) but this has been a very fun and reliable gun to shoot. The Normal Capacity 30 round mags are still available/legal for these (if you can find them).

There are a few downsides but these are subjective:
1) The Colt is not mil-spec. It was purposely designed by Walther so that parts from the 'real thing' are not interchangeable.
2) The bolt locks open after the final shot but the bolt release is cosmetic only, and you close the action on the live round by operating the charging handle.
3) The dust cover is not meant to stay closed over the ejection port. Again, cosmetic only.
4) To disassemble for cleaning, you need a wrench (included with the gun)
to loosen the birdcage a few turns before you can pop the rear take-down pin. I made a case for my 'tool-kit' and keep it strapped to the barrel under the handguard.
5) The bolt and carrier as well as the trigger group are 'sealed units'. They are not intended to be disassembled for cleaning, but can be if you're careful.

(BTW, the stupid safety warning label on the trigger guard can be covered over with Krylon!)
Any more questions, ask away!
