Ruger Sr22 with mods = non restricted
I have one, and its pretty awesome! 2 failure to fires due to bad ammo (case was dented but didnt ignite) in 1000 rounds and no cleaning

X2-what he said.
While I have yet to lay cash on table my mind was made up when I heard that the S&W as well as the Colt were restricted. For your $$ you can't go wrong with the Ruger. Accesories?? Out the ying-yang! For what you pay for a Colt you can have a VERY tacti-cool .22.
Cheers!

I have a restricted licence but I want to be able to take this rifle to the bush ect with the risk of getting in trouble.

Ruger SR22 or Remington 597 VTR. I've held the VTR, and quite like it, have yet to lay eyes on an SR22. I already own a 10/22....so getting the same gun in black clothing seems a little redundant in my case.

Regardless, the Ruger SR22 is a little better looking IMHO and as mentioned before, lots of aftermarket toys are out there. The VTR is supposed to be a more accurate rifle out of the box...so pros/cons in both cases.

just like buying the old lady langerea or flicking a light switch. lol

anyway I think im going to do the sr22.
I was thinking a scope a few 30 round mags and a fake silencer, mabye bipods.

if you guys had links to parts or could explain to me how to find adaptable parts and what ammo would work best that would be great.
my buddy has 1 im going to look at in a few hours

thanks

standard Ruger SR22 with troy battle sights, dlask rails, butler creek mags, and tapco red dot

thanks.
do i need the dlask rails if I only want batle sights and no red dot?

and dose barrel come threded in Canada? cause i would like a fake supressor on mine as well.

You don't "need" the rails, but then you have to mount them on the factory ruger rail which is only like 6-8" long above the receiver - the dlask rails extend to the end of the handguard so that I can mount my battle sights further apart
