Hrm, $800-1000 could buy a lot of toys for my "real" AR.
Except you can't walk around the woods and scare everyone who sees you... non-restricted

That is true, no doubt about it. But as the posters above pointed out, you are stuck shooting your real AR only at an approved range, only with mags pinned to 5 rounds and last time I checked, 5.56mm was selling in the $600/ 1000 round range... bulk .22 sells for about $40/ 1000 rounds.... An entire afternoon of shooting is $20 - $40 instead of $300 - $600... That means a lot more trigger time in my books!
And I can buy a lot of toys for a "fake" AR with the money that you will have to spend on ammo!![]()

Well you can buy a conversion kit for your AR.
BTW .22LR is about $60/1000 now![]()

Agreed about the price of .22LR, 60$ + instead of 40$
But for me, the big point, is being able to shoot it almost anywhere
Im thinking I should sell my AR and get the rimfire version, all I can find is 223 and not 556 nato.......![]()
Federal bulk is less than $20 for 525 around here. As is a lot of other .22lr stuff. Nowhere near $60 a 1000.
No kidding. Wally World is selling the 333 packs for $9.99 here. That's $30/1000, not $60. The most expensive brick I have seen locally is around $20/500.

hell you could buy the new norinco AR for that
yes but I couldn't take it out and shoot it in my backyard like I can if these are non-restricted....![]()
For less than 10 cents a round.
