Colt Marine Corp 1911...

At the suggested retail price point of $1,999 personally there's other 1911's I take a look at first.

Preferably ones without baked on desert tan finishes, forward slide serrations, under dustcover do-dad rail, etc.

But it's whatever floats your boat, though.

It's got "Colt" written on it. Worth buyin' right there.

I do wonder though, what justifies the $1,999 MSRP though... the fact that it has "Colt" written on it, the fact that it has been chosen as the new "Marine Corps" combat pistol, or both?

I recon it's about $500 more than it needs to be for what you're actually getting.

I love Colts, but I have to say that Rails are an abomination on a 1911! Forward slide serrations are also rather unsightly...

Just my $0.02.

If it were me I'd keep an eye out for a Colt M1911 from a known USMC serial number block. I just think these new ones look like every other "tricked out" 1911 out there.

I'll sell you my Nork for $1500, I've been told that they were made for the Marine Corps or something like that. Its blued with out the do dads and forward serrations so $500 less than the Colt, and yea its Chinese.

I'll lowball you and say he can have my Norc for an even $1200. I'll even throw in 4 mags. HAHA

Hmmm....when I go to the range, which is not very often I admit, I see guys shooting guns from all sorts of manufacturers. Everyone is proud of their chosen firearm. From Norc to the high end stuff dreams are made of. In every instance the shooters are supportive of the other person's choice of gun. Same as the guy who pulls into the local coffee shop/burger joint with his hot rod/motorcycle. Even thought it may not be a shing beauty it is what that person has put his pride and decision into buying.
Yet a guy posts online his thoughts of a new gun and there are no shortage of people who stand on the soapbox and ridicule or critique the decision. Perhaps our ranges should all be lined with one type of gun..
I trust that there is more support at our respective ranges for fellow Gun Nutz than is shown here from time to time. I love seeing all makes and models of guns and support all of your decisions to purchase whatever makes you enjoy our common sport.

I believe the criticisms were placed on the price associated with the firearm more than the firearm itself, if you want to pay a premium for ninja rails and racing stripes on your 1911 fill your boots. I'll still stand in the stall next to you, and I'm so polite, I won't even ask "how much did you pick that up for?". Just to save us both some embarrassment.

Stop being so thin skinned there boys. The gun in questioned is way over priced however who cares. If it floats your boat go for it, stop being a slave to the opinions of others.

I think it's a fine pistol it having rails is a sign of the times and it being a USMC issue pistol makes it a instant hit if you can buy one do it man it will be cool. I bought a para gi expert despite the negative unhelpful comments i received, but watching youtube and reading reviews i went with it and im very happy im having fun customizing it. One day when I can afford it im doing a colt.
