Colt Mk18 mod0 clone...best that I could do :)

Just wanted to share my latest build...i'm very happy with it...as its been a long time.

I know everyone has moved on to Mk18 mod1 and mod0 is yesterday's news, but I will always love the mod0.

I've been fascinated with the Mk18's since about 2007/08 when I bought my first 10.3" N8 CQB upper from Arms East (that one is long gone now but)...I always wanted to build an exact as possible replica of a Mk18 mod0, with Colt parts and 'correct' items. I think the barrels from LMT and DD is top notch but been waiting for an all Colt one for a long time.

I've done a lot of research online which included a lot of trolling on this forum and ar15.com. I had also come across the power point presentation:

I tried to be as faithful as possible to the original, but alas no fun switch lower. Also the KAC RAS is a stand-in until I get an old-school RIS...but close enough for now.

Looking forward to taking it out on the range in a couple of weeks to find out how I really did.

I'm in the process of gathering parts for a block 2 MK18 (or MOD 1... Whatever you want to call it...) Can't wait. You have a very nice rifle. Clean and classic.
