Colt mkIV/series 70 value

Hi Guys, I'm looking to pick your brains for a value on this colt.
I was offered this '77 gov. mdl, It is advertised as 98% with only 40 rounds fired.
Comes without the original box. but has original papers.

Seems in decent shape...I'd say a $1000. But others will be along soon to say $1500+ in the EE (then the thread will degenerate into EE bashing...just sayin'...).

Boils down to how bad seller wants to get rid of it, &/or how bad the buyer wants it!

Based on the cost of a new one & added taxes,..... $1000. is not unreasonable for this one....JMHO.

Colts do hold a high resale value.....

Recently paid $1200 for 1973 Gold Cup S70 in 95%+

Id buy that one for a max of $800 if you really wanted it.
