Hey there, long time lurker fist time poster. I finally decided on my next ar: the Colt MRR 11.6. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find one locally and will be purchasing online. I've looked at several photos online from different retailers (both stock photos and actual photos taken from the dealer) and I've noticed a few things:
-most mrr's appear to have the US Pat # in white, however some are all black
-again most mrr's have the caliber stamped (5.56) between the maple leaf and the serial, but I've seen a few that did not.
If you look at Durham Outdoors instagram page for example, you will notice they posted an mrr 11.6 but it doesn't have the caliber stamped on the lower.
Anyone have an idea what this could mean? I just want to make sure I'll he buying a genuine mrr from the factory, and not one that has been assembled by the retailer (ie. taking an mrr upper and matching it with a different Colt Canada lower.)
Thanks guys.
