Colt New Service 45 LC frame butt marked MP

Worth $300 to $1500 Depending on condition and heritage. RCMP or RNWMP revolvers will be marked MP (or RNWMP) on the butt or backstrap, and should have a rack number on the backstrap as well. The RNWMP/RCMP revolvers came in .455 and 45LC...

I'd bet your worn .38 would be in the $300 range while an unfired .45 (not RCMP) would be worth about $1300-$1500. If it's an RCMP unfired, well, I have one of those. $1800-$2000.
 
It just has MP on the frame on the butt between the grip halves serial number is T 353###
The other is in 38 WCF and has a serial number of 102XX
I have checked the date serial number and know the dates just not what the market would value them at
 
That serial number seems a little off, is it on the inside of the frame, when the cylinder is opened? Do you have pictures? Here is the MP marking on my RCMP New Service:

 
If you pm me the exact serial number I can check it in Don Klancher's book (Arms and Accountrements of the RCMP), but I won't be able to do so until Friday. He has all the known New Service serial numbers in the book, along with rack numbers assigned.

The T is not part of the serial number. Technically a T in the crane recess means Targeted (sighted in with live ammo at the factory).

L means "lined" basic bore sighting...

353,### would be the 1939 or (more likely) 1941 shipments.

Amazingly there were .455 Eley guns shipped to the RCMP in the 1939 shipment.
