Colt New Service Question

Hello folks. I bought a Colt New Service on the EE recently. It was originally chambered in 455Ely. The seller informed me that the chambers were bored out to accept 45LC. Were the cylinders made for 455Ely the same as 45LC with just a step in the former for the shorter cartridge? I have fired 45LC through it with no visable repurcussions. I just got to thinking about the 455Ely being a lower pressure round than the 45LC. Open to any and all opinions and advice. Have a good one folks and many thanks.

I have a New Service with the same mod. The 455 Eley is essentially a 455 Webly, and runs at the same pressures. I wouldn't hotrod 45 LC rounds through it, just keep in mind that 45 LC wasn't a high pressure cartridge either. - dan
