Currently have a 1910 officer model colt 38specail with a 7.5 inch barrel , I bought this over 20 years ago and wondering what it be worth? I know it’s abit of a rare bird and only really find us prices and thinking 1800 usd isn’t no Canadian price lol.know I paid a good amount for it back in the day but just wondering a fair price to put on it if I was to sell it , it’s a beautiful peace but like my smith for shooting and haven’t shot this colt in 10 years so think she’s going to me moving on. The best method to determine it's true monetary value in Canada is to send it to auction. (Set a reserve, if you wish.)

At auction, a seller can find the right buyer, and the right price.

They are very nice period piece revolvers, but time has not been on their side unlike Lugers, Pythons, Colt SAA’s….
Probably a great shooter too, but many shun revolvers (even new production) in favour of semi-auto pistols. So your market is small, plus the sights are not upgradable, a longer barrel can be undesirable, and at most competitions you would be at a serious disadvantage.
IMNSHO it’s a nice $500.00 plinker.

Very classy handgun. IIRC in the late 1920s early 1930s an American bullseye shooter was awarded national shooting awards with this exact same revolver.(match sites)

Funny story. In those more innocent days he carried his piece in a shoulder holster under his suit jacket while taking the subway back and forth from his shooting practice sessions. Can't remember his name!

Shoot it or sell in U.S.

The Value there is only to a REAL S&W collector at about 750 $ JMHO. RJ

Don't know if a S&W collector would be interested as it is a Colt?!

Similar revolver albeit in what appears to be better condition than your sample is listed at #1,875 U.S. on Gunsinternational
I would think yours would be worth $1,000+ in U.S..Here in Canada, not sure at all given the uncertainty of the future legal status of all handguns. I had a 6" Officers Model 38 years ago. It was remarkably accurate, lovely trigger, and a real pleasure to shoot.Alas sold for college expenses.

I'd shoot it or export to U.S. for sale if max $ is your wish.

My 2 cents.

I have the 22 version of this revolver. Its a 1937 vintage.I bought it a few years ago and paid 575 for it.The fit and finish on it is fantastic, you just dont see guns like this made anymore(unless its a 5k Korth). This Officers model puts my 72 Python to shame as regards build quality.I see them for sale quite often on the EE often at very good prices and often they take a long time to sell which is quite surprising.
