Colt or Daniel Defence?

I've narrowed down my search for my first AR-15 rifle. The two I've decided on are the Colt LE 6920 and Daniel defence V5 M4. Any thoughts from anyone that owns a AR-15 rifle?

Cant go wrong with either. Do a cost comparison if you plan on adding a rail on the Colt. If it is close to the cost of the DD, I would go with the DD for the barrel.

Between those two I think it’s just personal preference. Personally I would go with the DD V5 M4.

I have a DD M4A1 and a Colt 6920 on the way, I'll let you know what I think as soon as the Colt is here.

i kinda like not having a heavy rail in front, gotta keep it light in the front as much as possible, thats why i went with the colt since i dislike the dd rails anyway.

Those are two of the best you can choose from. I have a DD and love it.

You can get the Colt cheaper from irunguns but I think there's a little more value in the DD, ie free floated barrel that's cold hammer forged, quad rail, built in QD points, vertical grip. Just depends on what you like, can't go wrong with either one. I love my DD.

I've been reading threads about the finish quality of the Colts coming in. Can't say for sure, as I didn't buy one of those. I do know that there is absolutely no issue with the fit and finish of my DD.

DD rails weight very little. So it is not a heavy rail.

Actually a DDV5 only weight 6.44 pounds according to DD's website.
And even the Colt website said the weight for Colt 6920 is 6.95lbs, so I dont know where you got your numbers.

And a standard M4 plastic handguard with the delta ring assembly weight the same as a standard DD handrail.

A DD V7 is on par if not a touch lighter than a colt 6920.
