Saw a revolver today that I had never seen before.
It was a Colt PeaceKeeper .357 with 6" barrel double action revolver. It had a very rough flat black finish.
Wondering if anyone on here knows anything about them? Are they desirable at all?
What would one in excellent condition be worth? A poor mans Python????

I believe it's more of a poor man's Trooper Mk V. They were produced in the late 1980s and the story I heard was that it was during a prolonged strike at Colt and there were not enough employees to produce a polished blued finish hence the matte finish. I think they're kind of cool and unique but I'd say that their value is nowhere near the snake Colts. Just a guess...I'd say maybe $700-$800 in good shape? Although I might be off on either end.

Thanks for the info M-G. It is a pretty nice revolver in it's own roughly finished kind of way. Nice Pachmayr grips. Likely the only Colt revolver I could afford other than a Scout...lol

Yup, produced during the last gasp of LE revolver sales, designed to try and get Colt back into the LE business - it came too late. Colt tried lots of things to break into LE sales - the AA2000 and the Double Eagle come to mind, all failed.

Was really hoping the CFO would pull through and finish my authorization today but no go.
Here are of a couple random interweb photos of what I bought. Mine is every bit as clean as these ones. Love the grips.
