A buddy of mine says his dad has two original Colt Peacemakers from around 1895. Both of them are in original cases. One has a silver dollar and ammo smithed by Sam Colt which came with it. I was wondering how much these would be worth. They sound like thet are worth something. Of course, he could be full of sh!t.

The Peacemaker was a 1873 OR LATER model and SAMUAL COLT died in 1862, so MR. COLT never laid a hand on it. But on the other hand any COLT has VALUE and cased ones have more. Actual model and condition are what governs that value. Model 1873 SINGLE ACTION ARMY pistols go from $400 for really rough shape to $4000+ for something really special, but usually around $1000 to $2000 . If you could get pictures and post them here I am sure you would get the answer you are looking for. But no matter what someone says it is worth you still have to find someone willing to pay what you think it is worth.

The value of a Colt SAA can range from next to nothing for a rusted out old POS to tens of thousands:eek: for a presentation grade piece that was given to a historical figure by the factory. These, for example, are so expensive they don't even bother to quote a price:

More commonly, though, they run from $1500 to $3000, depending on generation, condition, finish, and provenance. These are what you could expect to find:
