Colt Python Question

Working on a project, and was wondering if someone could tell me what the outside diameter of a Colt Python barrel is? Is it tapered?
I do not currently own a Python to determine this. Trying to figure out if a scope mount for a Python would work on another revolver barrel.

Well, according to my Starrett micrometer, my 8" blued version has a diameter of .7280 inches at the muzzle and just ahead of the frame. Hope that helps.
