Colt python

Not reproduction.... new production and for all intents and purposes, probably a better gun.

Dont get me wrong not knocking the gun I love the python and it is a great revolver. Just in my opinion I think this new production is about $1000 hight considering the price for a 6 inch S&W 686 which is about $1,100 CAD

Well, that's the question isn't it. When the original Pythons were being made they always seemed to be priced around $1100-$1200 in today's dollars after adjusting for inflation. Unless you expect this gun to be dramatically better in terms of function and quality than a S&W custom shop or a GP-100 Match Champion $2200 does seem high. While it may be better than those other guns I suspect at least a fair part of that higher price may be trading on the image. Now that is fine in my opinion. Fair market value is whatever people are prepared to pay and it seems these will sell easily at this price point.

I do agree. I just sometimes think that we are so h#$*y in canada to get certain firearms that the manufacturers and retailers know that and we just pay what they put out there to get it.

That being said and before the clash back starts. Understand that I am not accusing any of our retailers of anything here as there are costs to bringing these things in for us. And they do need to make a profit. I GET IT.

Retailers and Colt will go after the low hanging fruit first( folks who want it now and will pay $2200.) and in a couple years colt will narrow the margins a bit along with the retailer to get other buyers who are on the fence at that price point, standard stuff, I can wait.if I get one at all it will be at a somewhat reduced price and if I am not comfortable with that then I will be out, no sweat either way! Awesome looking handgun though.

I guess some of the retailers HAVE lowered the price of the "king Cobra" a bit.....so there may be some logic in what you're saying.... on the other hand, inflation is an ugly thing and prices may creep up because of that; certainly labour and material costs will increase....

Who knows....maybe this will be their only run this year.

The new Colt Python is selling on Gun Broker above MSRP. Read that on another thread on here.

I wouldn't wait. Get one now.

That would be fantastic for those who bought one, and for inflated prices when the Anaconda comes out knowing there may only be limited numbers, has the King Cobra stopped production? Personally I think Colt will try to get one of these beauties in the hands of every shooter alive, as it should be.

If you ar factoring inflation this is ridiculous Inflation. Considering I bought my python 12 years ago for 900 bucks when they were unatanium at the time. And supply and demand was rely high.

Not to mention a possible gun ban in 3 weeks in the country

You needed to read post I was responding to.

Bdb is not talking about decades, he’s talking about waiting a couple years for the price to go down.

I’m just saying there are no guarantees that will happen.

Looks like you may have a point. Irunguns has lowered the King Cobra price:

Nice, yes, I was talking more a year or two, downside to that is if someone wanted first year of the new python, they would have to get in very soon at whatever price is current! The King Cobra looks great! So about EDIT: $1256. Cdn.
I think someone will break the $2000. Barrier and put the Python on for $1999. Cdn. For IRG they would have to import to save us one of the shipping charges and we save a bit on tax. Our Canadian retailers at $2199. Shipping included still isn't bad when you consider demand out of the gate.

Just browsing through as I am definitely interested in following these Python's, but might I ask where you got this information? Last news that I received said "up to 2 years".

Hey, hey, hey,
Let’s not bring up all this bullish!t about bans , inflation, exchange rates, etc.
All we want is for IRG to bring us a python for $1350 U Fucin S ... lol

Up to 2yrs is for the "assault weapon" confiscation......but if privilege boy gives cities the power to ban.....well then why wouldn't they??
