Colt made a few limited runs of Elite in 10mm. If your friend's gun is marked Ten/Forty on the slide and has the 2 original barrels he probably has a one of a special run made in 1992. I am uncertain of the exact number but they produced between 100 and 500 of this set. Being rare... especially in Canada,
I figure it would bring a fair amount of $$ for the right collector! Do you have any pictures?

unfortunately did not take a picture...but yes it does come with two barrels and mags for both calibers. as well as is marked ten forty elite

I've never seen one up here but in the states I saw a couple for sale in the last two years. Lowest price I saw was $1395 for a used but excellent cond. with extra mags for both calibres (that was 1.5 yr ago). Another one for sale about two years ago on Calguns.net, the owner wanted a straight trade for a Springfield TRP Operator or full rail Operator, he finally sold it for $1500 two months after his initial post...
They are scarce up here but since the collector market is light years behind what we see south of the border, and the asking prices of collector pieces up here reflects that too, I would say $1500 would be a tad on the hi side but if the gun is like described (near new), complete with the original box, outersleeve, papers and acc. it would not be out of line. I would probably buy this package myself at $1300-$1400. JMHO

that's great news. I guess the seller didn't know the value of this. He picked it up for $500
He was offered $1200 recently and didn't take it as he is intending on keeping the gun. i am not sure what in all it comes with....hope he has an original box...

Well it was a steal @$500! If he keeps it in near new cond. and he has all the original goodies I'm sure a Colt aficionado will pay over 3 times that amount in the years to come.

Great... Harry is pretty much on it for the value in Canada!
It all depends on the condition, box etc. For a fact I have paid more than that for NIB custom shop Colts!
Yes it came from a brother of the guy that had it. He passed away and they needed to get rid of it. He likes it a lot but said he will sell it if he gets right amount for it. Has original box one mag in each caliber...Its a nice gun. I wish i had the cash. Said he might take it to gun shows to test the waters.
