Hi all,
I have a Colt New service .455 revolver that appears to have a problem with the cylinder moving past the lock, or "throw-by". It locks up and fires perfectly in SA, but trying to fire DA it goes past and strikes between the primer and case. When I try it DA slowly, or even quick, but catching the hammer it locks just fine... It seems to me the spring for the lock may be weak and bouncing out of place when the hammer drops. The lock drops down before the cylinder rotates, and snaps up when it's half way on the ramp as it should... Any advice would be appreciated. I didn't open it yet to check the spring.

Other than the fact that in my experience Colt revolvers run like Swiss watches, no.

And by that I mean they go noticeably out of time within a month and require a professional to #### with them every couple of years.

Still hoping the bullet fragment in my right hand will one day work its way close enough to the surface that I can cut it out. Picked that up from shooting next to a guy with an out of time Python; it shaved off a big chunk of jacket and buried it in one of my more frequently used bones. I got most of it out but there's a little left which I hope to one day resolve.
