Hi all,
I have a Colt New service .455 revolver that appears to have a problem with the cylinder moving past the lock, or "throw-by". It locks up and fires perfectly in SA, but trying to fire DA it goes past and strikes between the primer and case. When I try it DA slowly, or even quick, but catching the hammer it locks just fine... It seems to me the spring for the lock may be weak and bouncing out of place when the hammer drops. The lock drops down before the cylinder rotates, and snaps up when it's half way on the ramp as it should... Any advice would be appreciated. I didn't open it yet to check the spring.
