Colt Revolver: stripped screw head - need help to remove

Picked up an old Colt New Service Revolver a couple of months ago and am finally getting a chance to have a good look at it. I want to remove the grips to see if there are additional hidden marks but I can't get the grip screw out because the head is buggered. I used the correct-sized screwdriver and made sure I had good pressure on the head but I can't back it off because there's too much missing from the head. There's enough to turn it clockwise but not enough to back it off.

Any ideas?

ps Anyone have a grip screw for a New Service Revolver?

Use a drill press with the proper size driver bit and apply a lot of leverage as you turn the bit. If that fails, drill out the head. Numrich has screws. - dan
