OK, here's the deal. I have a Colt 1873 3rd gen revolver, bought from MilArm a number of years ago, never fired. Pristine. I 'may' have turned the cylinder, but only once. Note: this is not a Pietta, a Uberti, EMF or any other clone. It's a genuine COLT.

I love the gun. Why? Because it's a Colt.

I bought it with the intention of doing some CAS. Did some before I got the gun. Even have an Arvo Ojala rig to use it with. But, I moved to Texas and never had the chance to shoot it (couldn't take my guns with me, and please don't ask me what happened in Texas...it's a very long story and we'll be here all night if I was to start...).

So now it sits in the safe in all it's glory. I paid over $2K for it. Is it still worth that?

I was at a gun shop a while back and they had a new 1873 in .357 Magnum and were asking $1700, if it was .45 Colt I probably would have pulled out my credit card.
In the mean time I bought a Uberti repro. for 1/3 the price and it shoots pretty good but it isn't really a Colt,it was unfired when I got it but that didn't last very long...loaded up some black powder cartridges and made lots of smoke and noise.
I would really like to see some pictures of your Colt if you have some.

Questions...

OK,

Moved to Midland, TX at the beginning of 2008...moved back to Canada 11.5 months later. In that time, I got divorced and lost my job. Made some good friends while down there, and found out who were the true ones in my past.

Yup, the FJ's mine! Just got it too, and love it! Got the Wing in Texas...a divorce gift to myself after 34 years of misery. Love it too...put almost 40,000 miles on her in 4 years. My first bike too (with an engine anyway). My fiancé calls them my 'idols,' I think she's jealous. Actually, she loves riding with me. Went all the way to the end of the TransCanada last summer on Black Beauty.

There you have it!

Cheers,
Ron

Hello Ron,

Where in Texas? Is the FJ yours? Too bad we don't have all night!;)

Thanks Ron, I have the same exact truck, except in a nicer color (joke, lol) and love it...just like my Colt SAAs.
