hello guys, my dad is wanting to get a exact replica of a colt SAA. he wants it in 45 colt. we were looking at the ubirty cattle man but are open to others. thanks for you help!he is looking to spend no more than 650.

I have 3 Uberti Cattlemen in .45 colt all with 5 1/2" barrels 2 are blued with case hardening and wood grips and the other is stainless with wood grips they are great guns and a lot of fun to shoot. Good quality for $

I've been very happy with my Pietta revolvers used fairly heavily for both general range plinking and for the Cowboy Action shooting I've done. And they are a bit cheaper than the Uberti option.

A lot of folks are likely going to jump in and suggest Ruger Vaquero. Ruger does make a nice gun, no mistake about that. But the New Vaquero does not truly mimic the old Colt action. If your Dad wants a functionally faithful copy then he'll need to stick with one of the Italian clones

Seems I'm not the only one looking for the Colt SAA replica around here...nice! To the OP...I ordered the Pietta 1873 Peacemaker from Marstar...they should have what you're after.

It's your choice of course but back in 1873 they hadn't yet invented "tacticool" so the guns of the day were actually nicely finished and polished then blued or colour case hardened to provide a deep glossy finish on those guns done for those that could afford the best. To my eyes the matt finish looks odd and out of place. But to each their own.

Here is a picture of my Uberti "Antique Finish" Cattleman 5 1/2 inch .45 Colt this looks like an old gun but was made in 2009. It shoot great using reloaded .45 Colt with a 200 grain round nose flat point bullet. Factory ammo is about $1.00 a round so reloading is the only option for me.
I bought this gun unfired but previously owned for $600.00 from the EE and am really impressed with the fit and finish as well as it's reliability.
