Colt Series 70 Front Sight?

I don't like my front sight, but it looks almost like its spot welded to the slide? I'm sure it isn't and that I'm just using the incorrect technical term, but does anyone know to which I refer?

The gun I refer to is an early 80's manufacture if that helps at all.

Don't know for sure about the early 80s front sight.

I owned a 1972 Series 70 though, and the front sight was staked to the slide underneath.

That is to say that the tiny factory front sight has a square tenon that fits through a square mortise in the slide, and that tenon was riveted over flush inside the slide and then polished smooth.
