To the OP...What your getting is basically a GI gun....no beavertail, no adjustable sights, no three hole trigger, no serrations or checkering on slide on frontstrap or backstrap...your getting a plain jane gun with the name Colt on the side...What you will pay for a Colt, take a look what Kimber has to offer for the same price as an example...

Just sayin...

Colt also makes the XSE series and the Combat Elite with "modern" features like beavertails and Novak sights but without the quality problems associated with Kimbers since the introduction of the Series II guns.

I would take the Series 70 reproduction over any Kimber on the basis of generally better build quality, especially given that SMEs like Hilton Yam and Larry Vickers have generally praised recent production Colts.
