Was shooting a gold cup national match and loved it, went to order one but saw this listed, colt special combat government. Anyone have one and what do they think of it?. Is it worth the extra cash?. I only plan on buying 1 high quality 1911. Any input would be great
Thanks

The Special Combat is the most expensive 1911 in Colt's lineup. They are put out in small quantities and assembled in the custom shop by one gunsmith. This gun was designed to compete with high-end 1911's like Les Baer, Ed Brown and Rock River Arms, not Kimber and Springfield. If you have the cash, go for it.

Thanks for the colt review, I'm going to shop around and look at all 1911 pistols before I decide. I really love the colts. I see a Dlask custom on the exchange forum. Probably real nice aswell. The choices are so big. I really want to shoot the gun before I buy. I tried a ruger p?? half polymer and none of us could shoot it very good. But the gold cup....awsome.

I handled a Dlask custom 1911 .45 this past Friday. Guy brought it into the local gun shop for the 'smith to look over. All the bells & whistles. Seemed to be very well made. Kinda cool to see the Cdn maple leaf stamped into the side of the slide... I love my Colts but that Dlask was really sweet!

I have one, I'm taking it with me when I go.

Satin nickle frame, Blue top, rosewood grips and all the other goodies.
Trigger is amazing comming out of a manufacture but after all it is built by their custom shop.
It has the Bomar adjustable rear and Hienie front all dovetailed in place, ambidex safety and SA ext magwell.

I would put in the extra money to get that over the Gold Cup, cost me $2100 plus tax several years ago. IMO the best 1911 for the price.

I'm still looking at options. In the US they go betwwen $1250-1500. Probably import one for the same price as a new gold cup here. I love brand new guns.
Thanks
