Colt Sporter Match H-Bar

I was at a friends house a few weeks ago and he has a Colt Sporter Match H-Bar with the A2 upper (the easily adjusted rear sight). Its also missing the bayonet lug if that is any help.
He asked me if there are any aftermarket flattop uppers out there that would match his Colt lower?
Or would he have to find a Colt flattop upper to match his rifle?
I told him I would ask you gentleman.

I was in the same boat a few years ago and made the switch to an Armalite flat-top upper with offset pin as enefgee mentions. It really did work great, but it kinda killed the resale value of the rifle. If your friend wants to go through with it, I'd recommend keeping the original A2 upper receiver so he could revert back if needed. Looking back, I'd have sold it as is and bought something more modern.

I noticed the hinge pin but forgot to about it. Is that what the offset screw is for, to install the newer uppers?
Yes just buying a new upper or selling the gun and buying something in that class.

A big hole upper is around $200, problem solved.
