I was just given two Colt LEO factory uppers with FA BCG's in 11.5" with the removable carry handle, never fired. What is the approximate value of these? I am thinking upwards of $1K, but I maybe totally off base.....I definitely owe my buddy a case of beer or a couple of bottles of scotch either way.

Well, look at the current situation with Colt AR's in general. With IRUNGUNS basically opening the doors wide open for Colt availabilty here in Canada, the landscape has changed dramatically as far as resale values go. You can buy a M4 LE6920 model for around $1,200 USD. Although, it's not a 11.5" upper, I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone willing to spend that much alone on an upper, however, you might be close. All you can do is put an asking price on them and let the market dictate what it will bare.

Sounds like an interesting story behind how they came into your posession. Any pics? You might drum up some interested parties from your inquiry here.

Are we talking older units or newer? I'm guessing not too old if they are flat tops. If you could post a few pics it would help. Questar has been bringing in some Colt stuff recently for some very good prices (for Canada). They had 6920's for $1599 if i recall correctly, and they have 6940's in stock for $1959. A couple years ago I paid almost 3K for a 6940 and sold the upper used for about $1800. The availability of some reasonably priced Colts will drive the price of your uppers down some. I could be interested in one myself but not for $1000.

:agree:

Post some pics or throw them on the EE, I've been looking for a few uppers.

Irunguns quoted me 1165 + 100 import + 25shipping for a new 6920 so Questars price is too high nowdays. Total is 1290 all in before taxes.

Your only as good as your last export permit... US State Dept. change rules all the time. One day you might be able to get a Colt the next day you can't.

Says who? The guys that charge extra and say buy it now before its too late
are these not the same people that said ARs were Hundreds of dollars more becuase of Mythical import fees, taxesand duties.

Hmmm, had a look at US pricing for a 6933 and 6921 uppers. Yikes! Maybe the thousand dollar range isn't too bad after all.

$750-$1000. Just remember that they just re-elected their best gun salesman and crap is flying off the wall right now. Which means the demand is going up and you have to compete with the US market. So expect the prices to go up.

Ever deal with the US State Dept. Ever talk to the DDTC????

933 uppers are probably some of the hardest to find, and the most coveted. A Colt collector would probably pay close to a thousand for the upper alone, if not more.

Wish I could make you an offer, as the 11.5 lightweight is one of the coolest uppers out there IMO, but I'm one of those champagne tastes on a beer budget kind of guys.

You can't compare the price to what people pay for a 6920. 6920 are fairly easy to find, the 933, not so much. It also wasn't that long ago that retailers were asking $2400 or more for a 6920, they could get away with it because they were hard to come by.

Some 6520 uppers were in the EE not too long ago. Asking price was $900 for 16" carbine gas, lightweigt profile, A2 carry handle upper. Not a very desirable unit to most, especially at the price point, but I do believe that they all sold because collectors want them and they don't pop up too often.

Like I said. Put them on the EE and let the market disctate the price. Isn't Capitalism wonderful!? It all depends on the individual. To me personally, they're worth very little. Why? Because I've already got a 11.5" Bushmaster that I rarely ever shoot so why would I want another one? Someone else? They may have coveted one of these uppers for years and neve had an opportunity to buy one. That person may pay whatever the asking price is without negotiation.

I wish the OP the best of luck selling them. I'm sure he'll have no problem selling them either way.
