There's no real point to this thread - just woolgathering..

Last year, I bought an original Colt Combat Commander that was so pretty. It was a genuine Colt and it had the original "commander" style hammer - not like the modern Salvador Dali looking ones. Well it seemed too nice to shoot and so I sold it. It was like keeping a virgin for a mistress.

Well, I did miss it and several months back, I saw one slightly nicer for two hundred dollars more than I sold the first one. Well, I couldn't say no and bought it. I knew that I would shoot it very little, so I posted an ad in the EE saying that I was looking for a used Nork, just for a range beater. Well, I had two responses for three ten each shipped, and thought, "Hell, I'll take both."
In the meantime, I bought one of the new Police Model 1911's.

Now, looking at the photo, which is the more sensible deal: three good quality Norincos, or the Colt plus $52. Both the left side and right side have now cost the same. Hmmmmm?

I like both sides. Variety is the spice of life. Sure is a pretty lookin colt. Please don't sell that one. If anything, it'll feel like doing the pepsi challenge each time you go to the range. I think you won using either side.

Which one??

It's human nature, you always want what you don't have. I'm sure you will miss the Colt again, if you sell it. Keeping the Colt and one of the 5" Norincos would be a good compromise.

Why wouldn't you get all of them?? Seriously. I don't care if you hate Colt or you hate Norinco. They're both solid guns. No reason you can't have them all (other than, you know, running out of money).

Sigh....

Here's an alternative - I own both I equally like both - yet I shoot the Norinco a lot more than my Colts. Actually my Colts are reserved for safe queen status.

hey, isn't everything these days about QUALITY and being reliable?
Norcs are reliable and cheap, but I'll go for Colt always and stay there...
I had Norcs before and their quality is on the second place ...

I dont need a safe queen - I buy guns to shoot them, and as often as possible. I'm happy with the performance of the two Norc's that I already have so the real question to me is: Would you rather have 1 gun and some gas money, or 3 guns? 3 Guns!!

The Colts looks Great, but in reaL WORLD, if you shoot ALOT like, me, Take the 3X Norcs and have tons of spare parts.

One malfunction and repair job on the Colt and you could buy your 4th Norc...easy.

Hope you like the commander Slug! :D
