Colt VS. Remington? Which do you like more?

I don't know wether to put this thread in here or the antique section, But anyways, it's pistol specific so I'll put it here.

Anyway, I would like to know which people like more? I know when people think of the Old West, and even the Civil War they think of Colt for the most part. don't get me wrong, Colt makes fine products indeed and deserves it's reputation.

However, I do confess I am more impressed with what Remington has to offer. Which their guns aren't as pretty to look at as Colts. 'The Colt 1860 revolver for instance is simply ###y to look at' I feel much better having a Remington 1858 or an 1875 revolver in my hands. Abit heavier then the Colts I've handled but I can also feel the toughness of them. I know that when I need it most, A Remington in my hands wouldn't fail. I'm not as confident with a Colt. I don't know if it's psychological or not.

What are your thoughts and experiences?
 
I tend to lean toward the Colts but have recently picked up a 1858 Remington Carbine .44 cal.

Yes they are shell cases and it is like that for the full width of the range (20 stalls) I took a picture of it for my desktop image on my computer. :D

I've got a couple of each. I like both styles pretty much equally. The Remingtons are what I use for CAS Frontier category shooting as well as fun. But once I get both my .44 Colts running I'm going to use the 1851/1860 pair as well. Just now the 1860 needs a new wedge made for it as the old one wasn't fitted correctly. In correcting the cylinder arbor slot the old wedge became too small so I need to make up a new one and blue it.

For those of you that have never shot a well made and tuned up BP cap and ball revolver you'd be amazed at how well they can group. A while back the 1851 was making 2 inch groups at 15 yards. And that was shot one handed by a guy with shakey arms and even shakier eyesight.... Namely me :D I'm doing well to get that tight a group with my modern S&W revolvers. So these old guns can definetly deliver the goods in grand style. And the clouds of thick smoke they make doing it simply adds to the mystique... :D
 
Colts.......a bit more prolific maybe?
Heck, the Remington 1858 is pretty darn cool with it's 'quick change' cylinder.
Still prefer the look of the Colt by a bit though.
I always thought the Colt felt more natural pointing in the hand though.
Of course then there's the odd disappearing rearsight arrangement.......yuck.

Slight perferance to the Colt IMO.
