That's a good one. Do you know where Colt gets many of it's slides for it's guns? <HINT> - a 3 letter gun company you're prejudiced against.STI has nothing on Colt for quality.
Colt was comparable with STI back when the series 70s came out, but today - they're factory line guns being plugged together like S&W, Paras and Kimbers. STI, Brown, Wilson are the ones that still employ gunsmiths to fit each and every part.
I see you're here in NS. Bring your (last 20 year manufactured) Colts and I'll bring my (any) STIs and I'll be happy to give you a schooling on quality. I'll arrange the range.
For the other poster - why are the bushings so tight? Accuracy. Customers want a more accurate gun than one that is quickly field stripped these days. For real combat specs, STI does the Bull Barrel design.
As for combat - well, there are a lot more STI tacticals in the hands of special forces teams in this world than Colts - and they don't have any problems with the recoilmaster.
